Instrument Panel: Notes

  1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  2. Disable air bag system, see AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS.
  3. Remove steering column.
  4. Remove glove box (1), glove box side cover (2), and hood latch release lever (3). See Fig 1 .

  5. Remove console box.
  6. Remove instrument panel center under covers (1). See Fig 2 .

  7. Disconnect instrument panel harness connectors, antenna and heater control cables which need to be disconnected for removal for instrument panel.
  8. Remove instrument panel ground wire.
  9. Remove front pillar trims (1), front pillar lower garnishes (2), front side sill scuffs (3) and dash side trims (4). See Fig 3 .

  10. Remove instrument panel mounting bolts (2). See Fig 4 .
  11. Remove instrument panel (1) with steering support member and instrument panel harness.
