System Description

Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor detects both REF and POS signals as follows:
- REF signal sends 4 pulses for every camshaft revolution. REF signal consists of 2 different waveforms. See REFERENCE . Based on REF signal, ECM determines which cylinder is at TDC.
- POS signal sends 6 pulses for every camshaft revolution. Based on POS signal ECM judges wavelength of REF signal along with engine speed and piston position.
