DTC Confirmation Test

  1. Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8-158°F (-14-70°C), vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, engine coolant temperature is 86-140°F (30-60°C) when engine is first started, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Start engine and allow it to idle for more than 20 minutes. Turn ignition off. Start engine when engine coolant temperature is more than 158°F (70°C). Allow engine to idle for more than 15 minutes. Check for DTC P0116. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
