Removal & Installation (Grand Vitara, Vitara & XL-7)

Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Remove ECM cover, located below right side of instrument panel. Disconnect ECM connectors. Remove ECM mounting bracket retaining screws. Remove ECM with mounting bracket. Separate ECM from mounting bracket. To install, reverse removal procedure.
