Driving Cycle Detection Logic

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Malfunction detected in first driving cycle is stored in ECM (PCM) memory (in the form of pending DTC and freeze frame data) but MIL does not illuminate at this time. MIL illuminates at the second detection of same malfunction also in the next driving cycle.
