Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST (FOR DTC P1450)  (for DTC P1450) or DTC CONFIRMATION TEST (FOR DTC P1451)  (for DTC P1451). If DTC P1451 is set, go to next step. If DTC P1450 is set, replace PCM and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST (FOR DTC P1450)  (for DTC P1450). If DTCs P1450 and P1451 are not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Inspect MAP sensor operation. See DTC P1408: MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION  test. Repair or replace as necessary. If MAP sensor operation is as specified, replace PCM and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST (FOR DTC P1451)  (for DTC P1451).
