Power Door Lock & Remote Keyless Entry System

Check power door lock operation. See POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION in SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK. If operating as described, go to next step. If power door locks are not operating properly, go to step 3 .
Check remote keyless entry operation. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY OPERATION in SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK. If operating as described, go to step 4 . If remote keyless entry system is not operating properly, go to step 7 .
Check remote keyless entry operation. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY OPERATION in SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK. If operating as described, go to step 6 . If remote keyless entry system is not operating properly, go to step 8 .
Check hazard warning light operation. See HAZARD WARNING LIGHT OPERATION in SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK. If operating as described, go to next step. If hazard warning lights are not operating properly, go to step 11 .
Check interior light operation. See INTERIOR LIGHT OPERATION in SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK. If interior lighting is operating as described, system is okay. System check is complete. If interior lighting is not operating properly, go to step 13 .
Check door key switch and power door lock switch and circuit. See DOOR KEY SWITCH & POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH CIRCUIT in CIRCUIT TESTS. Repair or replace faulty components, or repair wiring as necessary, then retest. If door lock key switch and power door lock switch circuit are okay, replace Power Door Lock and Remote Keyless Entry (PDL/RKE) controller, then go to step 4 .
Perform ignition switch and door switch circuit inspection. See IGNITION SWITCH & DOOR SWITCH CIRCUIT in CIRCUIT TESTS. If ignition switch and door switch circuits are okay, replace PDL/RKE controller, then go to step 4 .
Check power door lock actuator circuit. See POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR CIRCUIT in CIRCUIT TESTS. If power door lock actuator circuit is okay, go to next step. If any door locks do not lock and unlock, check for an open or shorted condition in Blue/Red wire and/or Blue wire between each power door lock actuator and PDL/RKE controller. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
Check PDL/RKE controller power and ground circuits. See POWER SUPPLY & GROUND CIRCUIT in CIRCUIT TESTS. If power supply and ground circuits are okay, go to next step. If any fault is found, repair power supply and/or ground circuits as necessary, then go to next step. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
Check door lock key and power door lock switch circuit. See DOOR KEY SWITCH & POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH CIRCUIT in CIRCUIT TESTS. Check ignition switch and power door lock switch circuit. See IGNITION SWITCH & DOOR SWITCH CIRCUIT in CIRCUIT TESTS. Repair any open or shorted circuit as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If all circuits are okay, replace PDL/RKE controller.
Turn hazard warning switch to ON position. If all hazard waring lights operate as designed, go to next step. If any hazard warning lights do not operate properly, repair turn signal and/or hazard warning lights circuit(s) as necessary. See appropriate wiring diagram in EXTERIOR LIGHTS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
Check door knob switch and hazard warning lights circuit. See DOOR KNOB SWITCH & HAZARD WARNING LIGHT CIRCUIT in CIRCUIT TESTS. Repair door knob switch and hazard warning lights circuit as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, replace PDL/RKE controller.
Check interior light and ignition switch circuit. See INTERIOR LIGHT & IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT in CIRCUIT TESTS. Repair interior light and ignition switch circuit as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . See appropriate wiring diagram in ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. If circuit is okay, replace PDL/RKE controller.
