DTC Confirmation Test

  1. Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8-158°F (-14-70°C), vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Run engine at 2000 rpm and increase engine speed to 5000 rpm and then decrease it to 2000 rpm, noting in order not to close throttle valve. Repeat 10 to 20 times. Check for DTC P0403.
