Power Supply & Ground Circuit

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect PDL/RKE controller harness connector. See Figure . Connect negative battery cable. Go to next step.
  2. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at PDL/RKE controller connector terminal No. 7 (Blue/Red wire). See Figure . If reading is 10-14 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 10-14 volts, locate and repair open or shorted condition in Blue/Red wire between PDL/RKE connector and DOOR LOCK (20-amp) fuse in junction/fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . See appropriate wiring diagram in POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  3. Check for continuity between ground and PDL/RKE controller connector terminal No. 14 (Black wire). See Figure . If continuity exists, power supply and ground circuit are okay. If continuity does not exist, repair open Black wire between PDL/RKE connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . See appropriate wiring diagram in GROUND DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
