  1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . If DTC P1510 is set, go to next step. If DTC P1510 is not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Start engine. Backprobing, measure voltage between ground and PCM 35-pin connector E61 terminal No. 2 (White wire). See Figure. If reading is not 10-14 volts, check for open or short in White wire between PCM 35-pin connector E61 and DOME fuse (10-amp) located in under-dash fuse/relay block. Repair as necessary and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Go to next step.
  3. If reading is 10-14 volts, disconnect PCM 35-pin connector E61.Check for poor terminal contact at PCM 35-pin connector E61. If poor terminal contact is found, repair as necessary and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . If terminal contact is okay, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article. If intermittent problem is not found, replace PCM and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST .
