Clutch Start Switch (M/T)

On Esteem, Grand Vitara, Vitara and XL7, clutch start switch is located on pedal bracket, inboard and above brake pedal and clutch pedal. On Swift, clutch start switch is located directly above clutch pedal. On all models, disconnect clutch start switch. Using DVOM, check continuity between clutch start switch terminals. Continuity should exist when clutch pedal is in fully depressed position, and when releasing from fully depressed position for 1-1.5" of clutch pedal travel. See Figure. Continuity should not exist when clutch is not applied or when clutch pedal is at rest position.
