Transmission Range Switch (A/T): Swift
- Apply parking brake and block wheels. Transmission range switch is located on transaxle. Disconnect shifter cable coupler from transmission shift lever. Remove transmission range switch. Place transmission shift lever in Neutral position.
- Ensure transmission shift lever is in Neutral position. Ensure transmission shifter cable coupler is properly positioned for mounting at transmission shift lever. See Fig 3. Adjust shifter cable coupler position as necessary. Install shifter cable coupler to transmission shift lever.
- Using flat tip screwdriver, turn transmission range switch clockwise and counterclockwise until a click is heard. See Fig 4. Install transmission range switch to manual shift shaft. Rotate transmission range switch in direction of arrows until a click is heard or felt. See Fig 5. Tighten transmission range switch retaining bolt. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Place floor shifter in "R" position and ensure reverse lights are illuminated. Ensure vehicle will start with floor shifter in "P" or "N" positions only. Ensure vehicle will not start in any forward or reverse drive gear. With shifter in "P" and key removed from ignition, ensure vehicle does not move and transmission is locked in PARK.
