Rear Adapter Case, Vehicle Speed Sensor: Installation

  1. Install the key-way to the output shaft. Install the output shaft sensor ring. Install a NEW oil seal to the adapter case using the Axle Shaft Seal Installer.
  2. Install a NEW gasket to the adapter case. Install the adapter case to the rear of the transmission.
  3. Install the 6 adapter case bolts. Tighten adapter case bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Lubricate a NEW VSS "O" Ring with ATF. Install the NEW "O" Ring to the VSS. Install the VSS to the adapter case. Install the VSS bolt. Tighten the bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
