Measurement Procedure
- Install Dial Indicator Set and Magnetic Base. Temporarily install the direct clutch onto the center support. See Fig 1 . Place Dial Indicator Set plunger on the direct clutch piston.
- Apply 58-114 psi (4.08-8.02 Kg/CM2 ) of compressed air into the second left fluid passage in the overdrive case. Measure the direct clutch piston stroke. See DIRECT CLUTCH PISTON STROKE SPECIFICATIONS table.
- If the direct clutch piston stroke is not within specifications, install a flange of one of the following sizes in order to adjust the stroke:
- 0.141" (3.60 mm)
- 0.149" (3.80 mm)
- 0.157" (4.00 mm)
