Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG SYSTEM SAFETY article in GENERAL SERVICING. Pull off control lever knobs.
  2. Remove heater control panel garnish. Remove glove box. Remove ashtray and center garnish. Disconnect control cables from blower motor case and heater case (if applicable).
  3. Remove control panel screws. Disconnect electrical connector from control panel blower motor switch. Remove control panel. Remove blower motor switch from control panel.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure all control levers operate smoothly. If lever does not operate smoothly, adjust cable clamp position.
