Reverse Brake Piston: Removal
- Remove brake apply cover bolts. See Fig 1
. Remove brake apply cover. Remove the gasket.
- Compress the reverse brake piston using a Clutch Spring Compressors. Remove the snap ring. Remove the return springs. See Fig 2
. Remove the retainer.
- Cover the reverse brake piston with a clean cloth. Slowly apply low pressure compressed air to the fluid passage "B" while holding the fluid passage "A" closed until the pistons are released from the case. See Fig 3
.
- Remove the following loose components from case. See Fig 4
.
- Outer Reverse Brake Piston
- Reaction Sleeve
- Inner Reverse Brake Piston
- Remove the piston "O" rings.
