DTC Confirmation Test

  1. Ensure intake air temperature is 18°F (-8°C) or more, vehicle is at an altitude of 8000 feet or below, engine coolant temperature is at 18-230°F (-8-110°C), and barometric pressure is 75 kPa or more. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds of 35 MPH or more for 20 minutes or more. Release accelerator pedal and allow vehicle to coast (with vehicle in gear). Stop vehicle and allow engine to idle for 2 minutes. Check for DTC P0443.
