Disabling System (Hombre)

NOTE: When SRS fuse is removed and ignition switch is in ON position, AIR BAG indicator light will be on. This is a normal operation and does not indicate an SRS malfunction.
  1. Turn steering wheel to place front wheels in straight-ahead position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and remove ignition key. Remove SIR (15-amp) fuse from instrument panel fuse block (on far left side of dash). Wait at least 1 MINUTE before servicing vehicle.
  2. Remove driver-side sound insulator and knee bolster. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect driver air bag Yellow SRS 2-pin connector at base of steering column. See Figure.
  3. Remove glove box. Remove CPA clip and disconnect passenger air bag Yellow SRS 2-pin connector behind glove box. See Figure. SRS is now disabled.
