Hydraulic System Bleeding

  1. Raise and support front of vehicle. Check power steering fluid level. See FLUID LEVEL CHECK  . Add fluid as needed. Start engine and allow it to idle for 3-5 seconds. Turn engine off. Wait about 3 minutes. Recheck fluid lever and refill reservoir if necessary. With engine off, turn steering wheel lock-to-lock 3-4 times. Check fluid level. Refill as necessary.
  2. NOTE: Ensure all air is bled from system. If air remains in fluid, P/S pump may make a humming noise or steering wheel may feel heavy.
  3. With engine at idle, turn steering wheel lock-to-lock until all foam in reservoir is gone. Turn off engine. Recheck fluid level. Refill as necessary. Lower vehicle.
