Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensor (Esteem 1.8L, Grand Vitara, Vitara & XL-7)

NOTE: Esteem 1.6L and Swift use a manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor in place of a (MAF) sensor.

MAF sensor is located between air cleaner and throttle body. MAF sensor consists of a thermal resistor, metering duct and control circuit. Sensor uses thermal resistor to detect amount of air drawn into engine and sends information to ECM/PCM as a current signal. ECM/PCM uses this signal to control fuel injectors.
