Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes Using Tech Scan Tool

Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Using 16/14 pin Data Link Connector (DLC) cable (09931-76030), connect Tech 1 scan tool (09931-76011) with Mass Storage Cartridge (BCM 1.0 or later) to DLC. See Figure. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) displayed on scan tool and record. Refer to Tech 1 operators manual for specific information on using the Tech 1.
