Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes
DTCs are retrieved using a Tech 2 or other OBD-II compatible scan tool connected to a 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC). See Fig 1 . DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, accessible from driver's side. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions when retrieving DTCs. Diagnose DTCs according to there chronological order. If a chronological order can not be established, diagnose DTCs testing DTC P0171 and P0172 first, DTC P0300-P0304 next and DTC P0400 last.
