DTC P0500: Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Malfunction: Condition

DTC is set when Engine Control Module (ECM) detects not vehicle speed signal input with vehicle decelerating (fuel cut) for 4 seconds or more. Possible causes are:

• Open circuit between speedometer and ground.
• Short or open circuit between speedometer and ECM.
• Short or open circuit between speedometer and VSS.
• VSS malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.
• Speedometer malfunction.
