DTC P0481: A/C Cooling Fan Control Circuit Malfunction: Condition

A/C cooling fan is controlled by Engine Control Module (ECM) trough A/C cooling fan relay. A/C cooling fan is turned on when ECM outputs A/C on signal to A/C control module (amplifier) or when engine coolant temperature is 221°F (105°C) or more. DTC is set when monitor signal of A/C cooling fan relay is different than command signal. Possible causes are:

• Short or open circuit between ignition switch and ECM.
• A/C cooling fan relay malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.
