DTC P0461: Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Performance Problem: Condition

DTC is set when Engine Control Module (ECM) detects incorrect input from fuel level sensor. This is a continuous monitor. MIL is illuminated when ECM detects malfunction during 2 consecutive drive cycles. Possible causes are:

• Short or open circuit between fuel level sensor, fuel level gauge and ECM.
• Fuel level sensor malfunction.
• Fuel level gauge malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.
