Using ABS Warning Light

  1. Turn ignition off. Locate diagnostic connectors No. 1 and 2 in engine compartment fuse/relay block. Using a jumper wire, connect diagnostic connector No. 2 diagnostic switch terminal (Purple wire) to diagnostic connector No. 1 ground terminal (Black wire). See Figure .
  2. Turn ignition on. Remove and reconnect jumper wire at diagnostic connector No. 1 ground terminal (Black wire) at least 5 times in 10 seconds (ground contact must be retained for at least .01 second or more).
  3. Turn ignition off and remove jumper wire from diagnostic connectors. Perform road test and retrieve DTCs. Confirm no codes are stored if scan tool is being used or that DTC 12 (SYSTEM OKAY) is displayed if using ABS warning light.
