Using ABS Warning Light

Ensure ABS warning light illuminates for 2 seconds after ignition switch is turned on (bulb check) and then goes out. If ABS warning light does not operate as described, go to appropriate test under TROUBLE SHOOTING . If ABS warning light is okay, go to next step.
Turn ignition off. Locate diagnostic connectors No. 1 and 2 in engine compartment fuse/relay block. Using a jumper wire, connect diagnostic connector No. 2 diagnostic switch terminal (Purple wire) to diagnostic connector No. 1 ground terminal (Black wire). See Figure .
Turn ignition on. Read and record flashes of ABS warning light. See Fig 1 . When more than two DTCs are stored in memory, each DTC is repeated 3 times starting with the smallest number.
If a fault is indicated, go to appropriate DTC circuit test. See ABS DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX table. If no DTCs are output, go to TEST D: NO OUTPUT FROM DIAGNOSTIC CONNECTOR under TROUBLE SHOOTING. After recording all DTCs, turn ignition off and remove jumper wire.
