Wheel Bearings
- To obtain correct front wheel bearing preload, tighten wheel bearing to 157 ft. lbs. (216 N.m). No further adjustment is required.
- To check wheel bearing(s) for excessive wear, raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. On 2WD models, remove hub center cap. On 4WD models, remove axle shaft drive flange. See Fig 1

- Mount a dial indicator to rotor and to hub center shaft. Push in and pull out on rotor. Note indicator reading. If movement exceeds .002" (.05 mm), replace bearing.
