INFINITI (1990-04)

WARNING: Accidental air bag deployment is possible. Personal injury may result. Avoid area near steering wheel and instrument panel even if air bags have deployed. Dual-stage air bag modules may be present that could contain an undeployed stage. When disposing of a deployed dual-stage air bag, always treat it as a "live" module. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.

Replace After Deployment Inspect & If Damaged Replace Component (Even If Air Bag Did Not Deploy) Comments
Deployed air bag modules; Control unit, diagnosis; Crash zone sensor and bracket (if equipped); Deployed side air bag module(1)>,> (2); Satellite sensor(1)>,> (2); Deployed seat belt pretensioners(3); Seat back assembly(4); Air bag module(s); Control unit, diagnosis; Crash zone sensor-front sensor (if equipped); Side air bag module; Satellite sensor; Center pillar inner(1); Instrument panel; Seat(1); Seat belt pretensioners(2); Spiral cable; Steering wheel; Wiring harnesses; Seat belts & mounting points; Inspect all SIR components for dents, deformities or rust.; After vehicle is repaired, check AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning properly.; DO NOT repair, splice or modify any SRS harness. Replace damaged section of harness.;
(1) On side of impact, including inspection of seat slides and adjusters.
(2) Except 1997-99 QX4.
(3) Except 1996-98 I30 and 1997-99 QX4.
(4) 1999-02 G20, 1999-04 Q45, 2002-04 I35, 2000-03 QX4, 2003-04 G35, if side air bag deployed.

Replace damaged section of harness.;

(1) Replace all parts of seat back, including seat back frame, following side air bag-curtain air bag deployment.
(2) Replace instrument panel following passenger-side air bag module deployment.
