Abs Warning Light Inoperative
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect harness connector at ABS actuator assembly. Turn ignition on while monitoring ABS warning light. If ABS warning light illuminates, replace ABS actuator assembly and recheck. If ABS warning light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Inspect IG METER (20-amp) fuse located in instrument panel fuse box. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, replace as needed. If fuse blows again, inspect and repair short circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Ensure ABS actuator assembly harness connector is disconnected. Remove combination meter from instrument panel. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Turn ignition on. Ensure combination meter connectors are connected. Backprobing 16-pin connector, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 14 (Black/White wire). See Fig 1
. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Black/White wire.
- Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Disconnect combination meter 13-pin harness connector. Check continuity between terminal No. 10 (Black wire) on combination meter harness connector and terminal No. 6 (Blue/Orange wire) on ABS actuator harness connector. If continuity exists, repair Blue/Orange wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Inspect ABS warning light bulb. Replace as needed. If bulb is okay, replace combination meter. Recheck ABS warning light operation.
