Combination Switch

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE: Combination switch test is for lighting, turn signal, hazard warning light, dimmer and passing light which are controlled by left combination switch on steering column. Cruise control system and wiper/washer system are controlled by right combination switch on steering column. See appropriate CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEMS or WIPER/WASHER SYSTEMS article for cruise control and wiper/washer system testing.

Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect combination switch connectors. Using DVOM, check for continuity across switch terminals with switch in specified position. See appropriate COMBINATION SWITCH CONTINUITY table. If continuity is not as specified, replace necessary components.
