BRAKELIGHT Switch

NOTE: Brakelight switch may also be referred to as stoplight switch.

This is a dual contact switch. The brakelight switch delivers input signal to CC ECU to indicate when brake pedal is depressed. When brake pedal is depressed, cruise control system operation is canceled. When brake pedal is depressed, the second contact point opens, cutting off power to magnetic clutch in the actuator which cancels cruise control. Brakelight switch is located near top of brake pedal.
