On-Vehicle Testing

  1. Connect manifold gauge set to compressor. Run engine at fast idle with A/C on. Ensure low-pressure gauge shows a reading of 7-71 psi (0.5-5.0 kg/cm2 ).
  2. If reading is less than 7 psi (0.5 kg/cm2 ), check expansion valve and receiver-drier. Replace components as necessary. If reading is more than 71 psi (5.0 kg/cm2 ), tighten remote bulb holder or replace expansion valve.
