BRAKELIGHT Switch Circuit Check

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect CC ECU harness connector. Turn ignition on. Depress brake pedal. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and CC ECU harness connector terminal No. 2. See Fig 1 . With brake pedal depressed, reading should be 10-14 volts. Release brake pedal. Reading should be zero volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, go to step  3 .
  2. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and CC ECU harness connector terminal No. 6. With brake pedal released, reading should be 10-14 volts. Depress brake pedal. Reading should be zero volts. If voltage is as specified, go to step  4 . If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Check fuses, wiring and harness connectors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If circuits are okay, go to next step.
  4. Check brakelight switch. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS.
