CONDITION
At the beginning of April 2006, a production modification took place which lead to eliminating the use of a hexavalent chromium plated union bolt. Due to the change in nominal length of the replacement bolt, the correct gasket is required during servicing. Use of an incorrect gasket will result in automatic transmission fluid leakage.
CAUSE
An industry-wide change in corrosion protection.
CORRECTION
During servicing of the automatic transmission fluid pipe, the correct bolt and gasket need to be used to ensure a proper seal. For identification and interchange see tables below.
