DTC C1257: "G" Sensor Fault
- Inspect "G" sensor. Ensure sensor is undamaged and securely mounted. "G" sensor is located next to parking brake handle. Inspect harness connector. Ensure connector is clean and in good condition. Repair as needed. If no problems are found, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect ABS actuator assembly harness connector. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 24 (Orange/Green wire) on actuator harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 32 (Orange/White wire). If voltage is 2.4-2.6 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 2.4-2.6 volts, go to step 4 .
- Inspect "G" sensor. See "G" SENSOR under COMPONENT TESTING. Replace "G" sensor as needed. If "G" sensor is okay, replace ABS actuator assembly and retest.
- Ensure ABS actuator assembly harness connector is disconnected. Disconnect "G" sensor harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Black/White wire) on "G" sensor harness connector. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open Black/White wire.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 2 (White/Black wire) on actuator harness connector. If continuity exists, repair White/Black wire for short to ground. If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
- Check continuity of Orange/White wire between terminal No. 32 on actuator harness connector and terminal No. 2 on "G" sensor harness connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open Orange/White wire.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 32 (Orange/White wire) on actuator harness connector. If voltage is present, repair Orange/White wire for short to voltage. If voltage is not present, replace "G" sensor and retest.
