Main Switch Indicator Light Circuit Check

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect CC ECU harness connector. Turn ignition on. Turn cruise control main switch to ON position. If cruise control main switch indicator light does not illuminate, go to next step. If cruise control main switch indicator light illuminates, check for short to ground in Yellow wire (Esteem) or Light Green/White wire (Grand Vitara and Vitara) between CC ECU and cruise control main switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between ground and CC ECU harness connector terminal No. 10. Turn ignition on. If cruise control main switch indicator light illuminates, circuit is okay. If cruise control main switch indicator light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  3. Remove cruise control main switch from instrument panel. Check condition of indicator bulb. Replace as necessary. If bulb is okay, check for open in Black/White wire and Yellow wire (Esteem) or Light Green/White wire (Grand Vitara and Vitara).
