Removal & Installation: Strut: Removal

Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Support lower control arm using floor jack. Remove strut-to-body nuts on upper side of strut. See Figure. Remove lower strut-to-knuckle pinch bolt. See Fig 1.
CAUTION: To prevent brake flexhose from stretching or coil spring from coming out of control arm, DO NOT lower floor jack more than necessary during strut removal.

Compress and remove strut. If strut will not come out of knuckle, slightly open slit of knuckle with a wedge. See Fig 1. Check strut for leaks or damage. Replace if necessary.
