Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. If air bags have not deployed, go to next step. If air bags have deployed, replace appropriate components. See POST-COLLISION INSPECTION  .
  3. Inspect front of vehicle and undercarriage for signs of impact or damage. If signs of damage are present, replace appropriate components. See POST-COLLISION INSPECTION  . If no signs of damage are present, replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  4. Reconnect all SIR system components. Using scan tool, clear all SIR DTCs. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
