Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If DTC 64 occurs intermittently, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If DTC is currently set, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect motor pack 6-pin harness connector. Measure resistance across terminals No. 3 and 4 of motor pack. If resistance is less than 2000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 2000 ohms, replace motor pack.
  2. Disconnect EBCM 8-pin harness connector. Measure resistance of Pink wire between motor pack 6-pin harness connector terminal No. 4 and EBCM 8-pin harness connector terminal No. 3. If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is not 2 ohms or less, repair open or high resistance in Pink wire.
  3. Measure resistance of Pink/Black wire between motor pack 6-pin harness connector terminal No. 3 and EBCM 8-pin harness connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is not 2 ohms or less, repair open or high resistance in Pink/Black wire.
  4. Check for poor contact or corrosion at EBCM 8-pin harness connector and motor pack 6-pin harness connector. If connectors are okay, replace EBCM. After all diagnosis is complete, clear DTC and test drive vehicle for 3 drive cycles to verify that DTC does not reset. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  .
