Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If DTC 55 is currently set, go to next step. If DTC 55 is not currently set, system is currently functioning correctly. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  2. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Test drive vehicle for 3 drive cycles and check DTCs. If DTC 55 resets, replace EBCM. If DTC 55 does not reset, system is currently functioning correctly. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
