Tech-1 Diagnostics

The Tech-1 (a scan tool) is used to read current and history diagnostic trouble codes and to clear all diagnostic trouble codes after a repair is completed.

NOTE: The Tech-1 must be updated to communicate with the air bag system through a replaceable cartridge before it can be used for air bag system diagnostics. To use the Tech-1 change cartridge first, then connect it to the data link connector and turn the ignition switch "ON".

The Tech-1 reads serial data from the SDM "Serial Data" output terminal "A1" to the data link connector terminal.
