UNDEPLOYED Air Bag

Undeployed air bag modules must not be disposed of through normal refuse channels. Undeployed air bag modules contain chemicals which will cause illness or injury if handled improperly. Failure to dispose of an air bag module in proper manner may be a violation of federal, state, and local laws. Whenever possible, deploy air bag module while it is installed in vehicle.

Transportation of undeployed air bag modules is regulated by hazardous materials regulations of Department of Transportation (DOT) and most state governments.
