Disabling System (B Series Pickup)
NOTE:
B Series Pickups are equipped with a passenger air bag ON/OFF switch. Turning switch off is not a substitute for completely disabling the passenger air bag.
- Obtain radio anti-theft protection code from vehicle owner prior to servicing vehicle or deactivate radio anti-theft function before disconnecting vehicle battery.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect and shield negative battery cable. Wait at least ONE MINUTE for back-up power supply to be depleted.
- Remove round plastic plugs on left and right side of steering wheel housing. Remove 2 screws and lift off driver's air bag module. Unplug driver air bag module connector. Install driver Air Bag Simulator (49-UN01-150) to vehicle harness at top of steering column. See Figure.
- Open glove box. Press inward on sides of glove box, and lower glove box to floor. Remove passenger air duct. Unplug passenger's air bag module connector at rear of glove box opening. Install Passenger Air Bag Simulator (49-UN01-150) to vehicle harness at passenger air bag assembly.
