Compressor & Condenser Fan Relays

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect relay electrical connectors, and remove relay. Attach ohmmeter leads to relay terminals No. 1 and 2. Continuity should exist. If continuity does not exist, replace relay. Remove ohmmeter. Apply battery voltage to relay terminals No. 1 and 2. SeeFig 1 orFig 2 .
  2. Attach ohmmeter leads to relay terminals No. 3 and 4. Continuity should not exist. Apply battery voltage to relay terminals No. 1 and 2. Continuity should exist with battery voltage applied. If continuity does not test as specified, replace relay.
