Diagnostic Procedure
- If DTC 66 occurs intermittently, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If DTC 66 does not occur intermittently, and DTC 36 is also present, diagnose DTC 36 first. If DTC 66 does not occur intermittently and DTC 36 is not present, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect EBCM 8-pin harness connector and motor pack 6-pin harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage of Pink wire between ground and motor pack 6-pin harness connector terminal No. 4. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is not one volt or less, repair short to voltage in Pink wire.
- Measure voltage of Pink/Black wire between ground and motor pack 6-pin harness connector terminal No. 3. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step. If voltage is not one volt or less, repair short to voltage in Pink/Black wire.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance across terminals No. 3 and 4 of motor pack. If resistance is greater than .4 ohms, replace EBCM. If resistance is not greater than .4 ohms, replace motor pack. After all diagnosis is complete, clear DTC and test drive vehicle for 3 drive cycles to verify that DTC does not reset.
