Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If DTC 57 occurs intermittently, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If DTC 57 is currently set, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect EBCM 8-pin harness connector and motor pack 6-pin harness connector. Measure resistance of Light Green wire between ground and motor pack 6-pin harness connector terminal No. 6. If resistance reading is infinite, go to next step. If resistance reading is not infinite, repair short to ground in Light Green wire.
  2. Measure resistance of Light Green/Black wire between ground and motor pack 6-pin harness connector terminal No. 5. If resistance is infinite, go to next step. If resistance reading is infinite, go to next step. If resistance reading is not infinite, repair short to ground in Light Green/Black wire.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and motor pack 6-pin harness connector terminal No. 6. If resistance reading is infinite, replace EBCM and recheck ABS system. If resistance reading is not infinite, replace motor pack. After all diagnosis is complete, clear DTC and test drive vehicle for 3 drive cycles to verify that DTC does not reset.
