Esteem & Swift

  1. Disconnect front wiper motor connector. Using jumper wire, connect 12-volt source to terminal No. 1 at front wiper motor connector. Ground Black lead at wiper motor connector. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Wiper motor should operate at low speed of about 47-57 RPM (Esteem) or 45-55 RPM (Swift). Replace front wiper motor if wiper motor operation is not as specified. See WIPER MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If wiper motor operation is as specified, go to next step.
  2. Remove jumper wire from terminal No. 1 and connect to terminal No. 2. Wiper motor should operate at high speed of about 70-84 RPM (Esteem) or 68-78 RPM (Swift). Replace front wiper motor if wiper motor operation is not as specified. See WIPER MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If wiper motor operation is as specified, go to next step.
  3. Using jumper wire, connect 12-volt source to terminal No. 3 at wiper motor connector. Connect an additional jumper wire between wiper motor connector terminals No. 1 and 4. Motor should return to Park position. Repeat 2 more times. Replace front wiper motor if motor does not return to Park position consistently. See WIPER MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
