DTC P0113: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Circuit High Input

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Select IAT parameter. If display reads -40°F (-40°C), go to next step. If display reading is not -40°F (-40°C), check for an intermittent problem. Go to INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IAT sensor harness connector located next to air cleaner housing. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and Gray/Red wire (Esteem) or Gray wire (Swift) of IAT sensor harness connector. Reading should be 4-6 volts. If reading is as specified, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, check wire for short to battery power. Repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace PCM.
  3. Using a fused jumper wire, jumper terminals at IAT sensor harness connector together. Turn ignition on. If display on scan tool reads 401°F (205°F) on 1.8L Esteem, or 246°F (119°C) for all others, replace IAT sensor. If display reading is not 401°F (205°F) on 1.8L Esteem, or 246°F (119°C) for all others, check wiring for an open circuit. If wiring is okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
