Visual Inspection

Check the following and repair as necessary:

Engine oil level and evidence of leakage.
Engine coolant level and evidence of leakage.
ATF level, condition and evidence of leakage.
Battery water level and terminal corrosion.
A/T hoses for poor connections or deterioration.
Throttle cable for excessive play or improper installation.
Harness connectors for poor connections or worn insulation.
Fuses for improper installation or for burning.
Related mechanical components for proper installation and condition.

If no problems are found during visual inspection. Check self-diagnostic system. See DIAGNOSIS & TESTING . If only DTC 12 is retrieved even though a problem exists, perform a manual shifting test. See MANUAL SHIFTING TEST under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
